Hi,

So by now you've figured that I'm a total techie idiot yes?...

I'm wondering if I have a rubbish soundcard on my computer or not. When I talk on Skype or send voice lcips, there's a consistent background noise. Not a buzzing exactly but a noise nevertheless. Noone else I talk to has this on their computers so I'm guessing they must have proper soundcards? My soundcard is (I think) Creative Soundblaster. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance ...

are you using the sound card itself or a USB device.. some cards do have slight interference from the other components in the system, and i've known USB to have a hum from the port is what i'm guessing causes it

I'm using the sound card itself. I've just unplugged all the USB devices which are plugged into my computer and while the noise differed in volume and pitch at various moments (lol) it still remained. Second guess?

Thanks...
